Emmanuelle Spriet-Toussaint
Businesswoman, entrepreneur, business coach and corporate consultant – my experience puts me in a position to expertly guide and advise others on their professional journey.
My Journey.
Over the 28 years of my professional career I’ve successfully built-up and managed my own UK inbound travel company for 15 years, from a one-woman start-up to employing over 35 staff. I also served as board Director for the trade association UK Inbound. I have now set up my consultancy business, and as such delivering consulting services for another large inbound Tour Operator and for a Wealth Management company, while also mentoring and coaching several small SMEs. I have also recently been appointed to the SME Council at the CBI.
As a result of the disruptive effects of the COVID pandemic, I developed much-needed crisis management skills, and established a solid consulting network as well as a management ‘toolbox’ which allows me to connect any business leader with the right contact to help navigate any obstacle – no matter what they may be facing.
I have also launched a new project in the wake of COVID-19 to help the sectors hit hardest by the crisis, by launching an innovative platform to host virtual experiences of the sports, culture and retail sectors: City Emulator, uses VR filming and AR technologies to provide a fully immersive experience for the end user. It was selected by the CreaTech 100 ones to watch in 2021.
My Impact.
My passion is guiding and mentoring entrepreneurs and start-ups because I know that when you start on your own, you feel the need to take on the responsibility for every aspect of your company. You’re the finance person, you’re the salesperson, you’re the marketing person, the HR person. As business owners force ourselves to wear multiple hats, but there are other options out there, a way to still run your business successfully while striking the right balance between your personal life and work life.
My extensive experience in the inbound travel industry means I can assist tourism businesses who want to work with the travel trade to understand the need of the travel trade and can work closely with DMOs to help them put their destination on the map for international visitors. But although my background is rooted in the travel industry – my services extend to providing corporate strategy planning and execution to businesses in all sectors.
During the pandemic, frustrated by the lack of support for businesses affected by the significant loss of income, I initiated extensive lobbying in order to make representations to the government on behalf of businesses in need – a core skill which I am eager to pursue further. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, sustainability in business is also an emerging priority and I am an advocate for the UN Global Compact’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as part of a business’ CSR policies, adding social responsibility as a service status for the companies.
I also serve as Vice President of FISCA France, which provides mentoring and investment support for new projects and business leaders at all stages of growth, from the creation, and securing of financing, to its establishment in the region, with the ultimate goal of stabilising new undertakings while optimising their impact on the environment throughout their lifespan.
Another cause close to my heart is the Star Eclampsia & HELLP Foundation, a charitable organisation I founded in memory of my sister-in-law. The foundation aims to create awareness of pre-eclampsia, to ensure safe pregnancies – saving the lives of mothers and their babies. We also provide professional help and support for the family affected, towards a brighter future for all.
